FLOW

Music October 6th, 2007 @ 2038h

A special post on a band. I might post more on some other artists/bands that I listen to often.

Flow is a Japanese band featuring two vocalists. I don’t think they are that famous outside of Japan because a quick browse through HMV today didn’t yield any albums by FLOW at the J-pop section. Anime watchers might recognise some of their works being used in series like Naruto (*shudder*).

What I like about their music is the fact that there are two vocalists. They take turns singing various verses of the songs and even though I don’t really understand 90% of what they are singing, the dynamics between the two vocalists seem to make the songs sound better. With reference to lyrics and translations, the songs make more sense and you can really feel the song.

Their songs are generally of a cheerful tune and are pretty catchy, much like Wu Yue Tian, a Taiwanese band. You could probably say I dislike hard metal music with lots of screaming and stuff.

Here are a few of my favourite songs that you could try listening to, if you please.

Surprise Package from RSAF

Interesting Stuff October 5th, 2007 @ 2155h

Imagine my surprise and awe when I saw the postman knocking on the door and passing me a thick package of who-knows-what inside wrapped in some huge packaging. I initially thought it was some sort of present from someone or something I’ve ordered online (details shall come when I receive it.) On the back of the packaging was written “From: The Air Force” and I wondered what the Air Force could be giving me.

I open the package and out comes a huge black box:

I open up the box and lo and behold this:

The letter tells me to work hard for the exams and to take some of the power up drinks. They also told me to go for a seminar on a date with no other details.

Now, I don’t know what to say.

Back with a new Skin

Daily Ramblings, School, Site October 5th, 2007 @ 2138h

Firstly, I’d like to apologise for letting this blog sink into the abyss of desolation for a while. I simply lost any interest in blogging and I guess this happens quite frequently. But now, I’m back.

Anyway, I have upgraded WordPress to the latest version and finally, WordPress supports tags.

Today was effectively the last day of school for my JC life. I think I will miss those days of having lessons in the future but for now, I’m not feeling particularly sad or any sense of loss, because I know we will continue to keep in touch with each other :)

Anyway, I’m bad at writing emotions-related post so I’ll stop here. The previous paragraph sound kind of cheesy though…
