Brave Heart

Anime & Manga, Music July 14th, 2007 @ 1552h

One of the earliest animes I remember watching when I was in primary school (around age 11) was Digimon Adventure. I loved this anime and I still remember bits and pieces of the storyline. I have to lament the destruction of the whole series with sub-standard (IMO) spinoffs and sequels.

Other than the story, I really liked about the show was one of the insert songs: Brave Heart by Miyazaki Ayumi. The song is pretty cool and I’ve realized, only very recently, that the lyrics are pretty great as well. Definitely helps to bring out one’s “brave heart” in times of need.

You can view a fan’s music video rendition of the song using footage from said anime below:

Run faster than the wind!
Aim farther than the skies!
You can meet a new you
Unknown courage sleeps in your heart, and when you realize
The downpour in your heart
Will surely stop…show me your brave heart

Silicon Valley Trip: Reflections

This is what I sent to IDA. Sounds a little corny but who cares? :P

IDA Silicon Valley Trip 2007 Reflections

From the moment I stepped out of the plane onto US soil, I’ve began to experience a whole new side of life that I’ve not been able to in my sheltered life in Singapore. Some of them I have anticipated through my readings and so I have not. Not wanting to sound exaggerating, even though these new experiences are not life changing per se, they have opened up my eyes bigger.

“Medical Hub”

Daily Ramblings, News July 11th, 2007 @ 1653h

Sorry for the recent lack of posts. I was very lazy and reluctant to write any more. I already have a draft entry titled “Day 2: The Tour of San Francisco” sitting there for a few days. I’ll try to get it done ASAP ;)

Singapore strives to be a “Medical hub” of Asia but with the following going on, I think we’re going to be a more of “Law-follower hub” more than anything else.

In a nutshell, for those who don’t understand Mandarin:

From the news clip: “After the delivery of her boy-girl twins, the woman lost a lot of blood and needed more blood transfusion. The doctor told the family that there was not enough blood in the hospital. If they need more blood, they must seek the approval from HIGHER authorities. The husband gathered about 200 friends and relatives to the National Blood Center the next morning at around 8:50 am to donate blood. The glass door was locked and the staff behind the glass door told the desperate husband that it’s not opening time yet and ‘Cannot Talk‘. The woman died later that evening.”

This is just horrible.

iPhone Overhype

Daily Ramblings, Interesting Stuff July 1st, 2007 @ 1705h

I agree, the phone looks pretty cool but I’m afraid, for me, that’s it!

If the chief of Nokia stood up and he said he was launching a phone that was big and heavy, and had no keyboard, was only 2G and not available for six months, he would have been crucified.

Enough said. Probably a post later on ;)
