Relics of My Past
Daily Ramblings, Interesting Stuff April 7th, 2007 @ 1215h
As I was flipping through old stacks of paper to be dumped away, I came across several pieces of interesting relics. Well, some of them are honestly too embarrassing for me to talk about here. There are a few that probably deserves mentioning though.
I found a certain “Students Style Questionnaire Report” which is apparently something similar to the 16 PF thing we took last year. It says that I took it during primary 5, which is 6 years ago. I don’t remember anything about it though.
You are interested in people and like to help and take care of others. You usually do not talk very much. You like being alone, but you also want to fit in with a group. You like knowing that you have something to add and that the group appreciates you. You like to do things that keeps the group organized and strong.
You are dependable and keep your promises. You like people to keep to schedules and follow plans. If something happens to change an important plan, you may get upset. You notice and remember details. You have common sense and like practical things. You understand the importance of hard work, and you probably have more fun playing after you finish your work.
Sounds kind of contradictory. The part about me seeking solitude somewhat semi-true of me now though I think many would disagree on the point that I don’t like to talk. I wonder what I like to do that keep “the group organized and strong”. To add, I’ve learnt and experienced much over these few years to know what there’s no point getting upset over a spoilt plan though I admit I still like things to be mapped out. Haven’t exactly realized this until I read this report this morning.
Your friends are important to you. You may choose a few close friends with whom to share your ideals and feelings. [...] You like people to play by the rules, and it upsets you when they break the rules. You may join clubs and teams when you have the chance, but you do not like to be the leader. You work hard for the group, but you do it quietly. You will usually help someone who is in trouble.
Quite true. I’m surprised I haven’t changed much over the years.
You enjoy school because you like the schedule, your classmates, and the chance to help and please your teachers. You learn best when you use a step-by-step approach to studying, and you prefer to study alone. [...] You like practical, traditional subjects. You don’t enjoy subjects with broad ideas. You enjoy assignments that focus on facts and details, and you may also like to memorize facts and details. You like work that has complete directions [...] You may also like tests that ask you to do something other than just write answers on paper. You like to do your work well [...] It may bother me when classmates don’t work as hard[...]
I don’t exactly enjoy school now because of the schedule. Honestly, with all due respects to the planner, the schedule sucks. I don’t think I like to please the teachers though. It hits the nail on the head by saying I like practical subjects and dislikes broad subjects. Hell, yes! I’ll have to disagree that I like memorizing stuff though, I hate doing that, I prefer to understand. And yes, I am sometimes a perfectionist when it comes to getting a job well done.
There’s more but I don’t exactly have a lot to comment on them so to save time and my lazy fingers, I’ll skip typing them. I’ll just like to add that the report claims I should have a tidy room. On the contrary, my room is as messy as any room can ever be.
I’ll probably post more relics when I find them
I currently have another less exciting relic that might make another post.
