So the exams are finished and I watched the first episode of the anime in raw. Well, I could make out most of the story because I’ve read the manga… upteen times.

On the whole, the first episode was pretty well done. The opening animation was pretty abstract and without much context, which is expected of such a series. The song was okay I guess.


Light and Ryuk’s voices fit well with the characters… I wonder how L’s voice will fit. But we’ll see that next week.

The eyecatches for this anime is the rules of the Death Note. A pretty neat idea.

And on it goes until it ends with Light proclaiming to be the god of the new world and Ryuk grinning to himself, thinking that “humans are so interesting”.

The graphics were good and so was the music. I hope this anime lives up to its high expectations!
