Remember Pokemon? The stuff that used to keep us entertained during our primary school days. Can’t believe that it is already 10 years old and still going strong. Countless number of kids have wasted their parents’ money away on this franchise.

Much have changed, the games for example have gone through much changes from the now defunct Gameboy to the upcoming Nintendo DS. (I remember bugging my parents to buy me a gameboy so that I could play the games but they didn’t yield to my requests. But everyone knows now that the games are easily played on emulators and can be found in almost all corners of the p2p world.)

The first generation era of Blue, Red and Yellow was said to have revolutionised Handheld gaming; the second generation of Silver, Gold and Crystal added new ideas and strategies into the game while fixing much notorious glitches from the first generation; the third generation brought the games to the new platform – Gameboy Advance – with Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and the remade Fire Red and Leaf Green which introduced tons of improvements in the areas of gameplay and graphics; and the fourth generation currently in development for the Nintendo DS – Diamond and Pearl.

Don’t the games bring waves of nostalgia to you? And gosh, the kids sure have the good stuff today – the graphics are pretty good!

Someone even joked that Wikipedia has more information on Pokemon than anything else.

So, what do you think?
