Happy Teachers’ Day

General August 31st, 2006 @ 1959h

Overall, it was better than that doomed National Day stuff though some stuff were still lame. Oh, did I mention that the singing (or barking according to Ray Yang) by one of the supposed “bands” was B.A.D? And the games were lame.

Went back to Dunman High after that and only saw Miss Fang and Mdm. Ilyana. Miss Fang told us that our O Levels E-Math was exceptionally good – everyone got A1 and even the GEP HOD was surprised to find out.

It started to rain. We went to lunch at McDonald’s and it continued to rain. Had a nice talk with Mdm Ilyana. The McDonald’s Chicken Foldover or soimething was bad. Obviously a copy of KFC’s Bendito Pocket (spelling?) and it is bad. When I went home, it was still raining.

On the bus, I saw these… (pardon the bad quality, my phone’s camera is lousy. And click on them for full-sized images)

What the hell is our education teaching our students? To mug, mug and mug? Or to vandalise? Where’s the moral? And what more, they’re from a uniformed group.

Absurdity

Daily Ramblings August 29th, 2006 @ 1953h

WARNING: A post full of angst follows.

Some things are just plain absurd that they boil your blood and spoil your day somehow.

Imagine waking up in the morning, washing up, and then walking to the elevator to find a sight that annoys your tired mind. You see two lifts climb all the way to the 14th storey and then having one stop there and the other down coming to the floor you are at and you find it empty.

There’s something wrong with the lifts at my flat. They like to climb to the 14th storey together and you have to wait forever for them to reach the floor you are on.

You go on with your day under the sweltering heat and then rush your way home for the sake of completing PW early so that you can sleep before 1 am to find out, to your annoyance, that you have to wait half an hour for a bus service 21. (Oh, I think Van will also agree that 21 sucks on frequency.) I kept seeing 11, 31 and 51 come and go but 21 never did.

Singapore aims to build a transport hub. Yet the bus frequency sucks and you call this a transport hub? Don’t give me the shit about unexpected road conditions. I know that and FYI, I did a bloody PW on buses. Since you obviously already know the “very dynamic” road conditions of the bus service and the never ending stream comments about the terrible bus frequency, why can’t you do something about it?

Another incident: I went to the toilet near T11 today for a change out of my sweaty shirt and when I was at the door, some guy inside the toilet slammed the toilet door at me, obviously telling me that the toilet belonged to his gang of friends and that I am to piss off and find some other toilets. Hooray. Did I miss the toilet balloting?

Anyway, on a ligher note, I believe every JC student need sthis.

The Woes of PW VII

Daily Ramblings, School August 27th, 2006 @ 1453h

Your uniform is not just two pieces of cloth to cover your body.

A major rewrite is needed. We need to do another survey and interview. Great.

The September holidays are so close and yet I don’t even feel like I’m actually going into the one week vacation. So much to do, so little time.

Yea!

The Geeks

Interesting Stuff, Photos August 25th, 2006 @ 2011h

Firstly, Pluto is no longer considered a planet. (Look at this comment.)

The other day, we were having fun in the LT and we took geeky pictures of how we would look like if we wore glasses.

Science and Arts

General August 24th, 2006 @ 2339h

By a certain someone who doesn’t wish to be known

Science and Arts play a significant role in our everyday lives. Science refers to the systematic knowledge of the physical or material world gained through observation and experimentation (eg. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics). Arts however refers to a nonscientific branch of learning; one of the liberal arts (eg. Music, Geography, Literature, History). These two areas of study, while being indispensable to mankind, exists within them a highly debatable dispute – Arts versus Science. The followers of Arts will be defined as right-brainers while the followers of science will be called left-brainers here.

Screwed

Books, School August 23rd, 2006 @ 1936h

One word to describe the Chemistry Lecture Assessment – screwed. Absolutely, not relatively, screwed. (I will elaborate this more later.)

Anyway, I’ve decided to buy the Dark Tower Series =) Gosh, I have become a hopeless fanboy. Halfway through the series. 4 more books to go!

There are some stuff I want to write, but they are not for the public’s eyes… So the next time you see a post requiring a password, ask me on MSN for it and I might give it to you if you are the intended reader.

Tagboard Removed

Site August 23rd, 2006 @ 1658h

The tagboard has been temporarily removed. The SPAM has gotten me on my nerves and I thought enough was enough.

I’ll write another one that makes use of the Askimeet anti spam filter. Before then, please use the comments.

Howdy!

Hailing from the lair of Prof. Ho!

He is a mugger. A bowler. And a chemist.

And he thinks he isn’t any of them!

What denial.

Okay, that’s all.

Wild Wild Wet

Interesting Stuff August 20th, 2006 @ 1924h

I’m linked! By this blog under the post which says “This blog posted about ugly Singaporeans and their behaviours”. LOL.

Went to Wild Wild Wet with Kian Yong and got a sunburn today. The entrance fee was atrociously expensive, $12.90 for less than 5 “rides” (note I use the word “rides” loosely) + $2 for their lockers.

I remember the days when Fantasy Island stil existed on Sentosa. The one and most important reason I wanted to go to Sentosa every holiday was Fantasy Island. I remembered spending the whole day in the “round-about river” and the “rides”. Wild Wild Wet sure brings back much memories form when we were young, innocent and free of worries.

SENTOSA = So Expensive and Nothing To See Actually.

Now I have officially wasted another weekend away. Kudos to my “wasting time ability”.

P.S. The tagboard might have to go… The SPAM is getting out of hand.
