(Warning: Long Rant)

Suddenly, my old hobby of reading has come back to me again. Instead of Enid Blyton and JRR Tolkein, it’s now Stephen King. Instead of the Lord of the Rings, it’s now the Dark Tower. (If you are interested, you can find torrents of his books here.)

I used to read a lot during primary school. Somehow, I stopped during Secondary school, reading occasionally like the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. Somehow, I’ve began to go to the library to borrow books to read now. I have a lot I want to read, but I just don’t have the time to do so. I read for entertainment sake, who cares about GP and English?

Zwing and Pi Day

Books, Interesting Stuff July 22nd, 2006 @ 1844h

Happy Birthday Zwing =)

And Pi Approximation Day.

Shaken and alone, enwrapt in the darkness, terrified of an ultimate meaning rushing at him, he gathered himself and uttered the final answer on that subject:“NEVER!”

“THEN LET THERE BE LIGHT!”

And therewas light, crashing in on him like a hammer, a great and primordial light.

Singapore Zizou

Interesting Stuff, Movies July 20th, 2006 @ 2226h

Well, I was suppose to have CLB class one faithful Tuesday but my teacher was late. So….my classmate and I made a parody of the Zidane-Matarazzi incident. Well its kinda lame so don’t expect too much.

Oh, and don’t bother finding out who is me. Guess =p. YW, don’t tell anyone my identity.

The Uglies

Daily Ramblings, School July 20th, 2006 @ 1937h

Some things are not pretty.

A lecher or a concerned citizen?

Someone sent a letter all the way to the Minister of Education (I think) complaining that the skirts of VJC girls are too short. Well, it sounds like someone concerned with the school alright except that this person took pictures of these students with short skirts. Well… isn’t that an invasion of someone else’s privacy? You decide on your own.

Difficult syllabus or lousy batch?

Apparently, our mid years was the easiest of all the years and we did the worst. 1% of the cohort got As for GP. Only 1 person got 4 H2 As. Sad.

Sore loser or…

The finals of the inter-house pool competition. The referee of the match was, surprisingly, one of the contestants as well. He lost to Xiang Long in the semi-finals.

Of course, Zenden, Visoth and Xiang Long went on to the finals. The referee changed the rules of the game to a race to three instead of the best of three. Seemed okay. He decided he did not want to referee halfway through the first game. Seemed okay. Suddenly, he decided to JOIN in the other team which had a vacant slot. In spite of the protests from our team, he simply said “I don’t care” and went on.

Well, by virtue of… something, Xiang Long won him again. =)

The Woes of PW II

Daily Ramblings, School July 19th, 2006 @ 2138h

The answer is official; SBS has rejected our request for an interview – not that I did not expect it.

Great. Now how are we supposed to continue without any pinch of information? And MOE still expects us to do PW when a semi-government doesn’t want to help us.

PW, BANZAI!

To be continued…

Tolerance

Daily Ramblings, Interesting Stuff July 18th, 2006 @ 2218h

Just finished the 185 questions 16 PF thing. It was… torturing.

Seen Sidney’s blog? This guy’s English is atrociously powerful! (Note the BIG, well, at least somewhat BIG, word thrown in here) And I heard he takes KI. Good read. Even Stephen King doesn’t use them in his novels, or maybe he does.

To address the title of this post, I just wanted to say… I may seem like someone nice for you to make fun of, but please take note that I DO have a maximum tolerance level and duly note that I am a human (like Zidane =P) – I can be nasty when you cross the line and piss me off.

Thank you.

The Tagboard

Uncategorized July 18th, 2006 @ 2118h

If you are interested in getting the ancient code of zenden’s tagboad, you can grab it here. It’s “officially known as” “Plottable Tagboard Systems 3.02 BETA”. No longer updated and no longer supported. Have fun with it ;)

MoE Attempt To Murder 07 and Beyond A level Takers

General July 18th, 2006 @ 0007h

A simple comparison with my year’s A level batch(yes, my A’s starts in 3 months) and the batch after.

H2 Maths – 3/4 C Maths 1/4 F Maths

H2 Chem – 5/6 Core Chemistry  1/6 Themodynamics/Biochem Option Topic

H2 Physics – 7/8 Physics 1/8 New Modern Physics

Now isn’t that an overload? Why do I even compare? Cause YW asked me to check out the syllabus. =p

GP Passed!

Interesting Stuff, School July 17th, 2006 @ 2017h

Good news. I passed my GP by.. ONE MARK! 51! Three of us, Xiang Long, Zenden and me, all got 51. And Mr Ho Chuan Lui got 59, the highest of the class.

And Mr NXL, after repeated reminders NOT to do so, locked his keys to the lock for our locker inside the locker. So I had to walk all the way back to school from the bus stop. Eh Mr Ng, thank goodness we missed our bus. Otherwise you can miss your phone for one day =P

Anyways, in some old news, you might want to read this very old post of mine regarding Mr HCL… Ignore the style of writing and English please.

Rotting Weekend

Books, Movies July 16th, 2006 @ 2127h

I just rotted my weekend away, nicely, with lots of entertainment.

Anyways, finally watched Pirates of the Caribbean and I must say it’s a pretty good movie. Worth all the hype. The actions were good and the storyline was cool. I wonder how the second movie will do, though from what I heard, it isn’t as good.

Finally finished reading The Gunslinger, the first book in the Dark Tower series. The book was pretty good and really got me into this series. If you have time, you should read this. Stephen King is a good writer.

And this day, one year ago…
